We are the City is a curatorial work that I produced for El Puerto de Santa Maria´s government council. It is a photography exhibition that makes a reflection around the visual representation of El Puerto de Santa María as a city. The work itself was created in two separate phases:

The first phase began with a meeting and discussion with the participants where we debated common aesthetics found in projects of cities visual representations, and how to break down these clichéd aesthetic and offer something new in representing our own city.

The second phase offered participants one week to take pictures around the city of El Puerto de Santa María. Later, I selected a group of these images and mounted a collective exhibition of the work. The central idea of the exhibition was to show the focused themes that the participants had with regards to the city in a narrative structure. This exhibition was showcased in December 2013.
